Daryle and I head into Tokyo on Valentine's Day (night) for some drinks out in Shinjuku 2-Chome. We started off quite early to take advantage of the happy hours at a few of our favorite bars; Advocates & Dragon. We met up with some friends and had a really great time. We finished drinking at around 12:30am and heading to a nearby internet cafe for a bit of shut-eye before the first trains back home. The internet cafe was really awesome and it was my first time to stay at one you could actually sleep at!
Work has been quite cumbersome lately and has been taking its toll on me. We have had quite a few new students join the school I work at which is usually a great thing EXCEPT all of the new students are 2 years old. Teaching children this age is really difficult for me and I'm not sure why. I have been living in Japan and teaching English to children for about 5 years now. I still enjoy my job but I'm thinking it might be time for a change. I think I might want to either change the age of students I teach, move to a different country to teach English or change my job path altogether. I have alot to think about on this front.
On a lighter note, March 14th was my 25th birthday! I had friends over for a dinner party at my place. We all had a great time and had some much needed celebratory drinks. After the dinner party, most of us headed to Ageha as it was the Shangri La Black Ball (gay party!) We arrived around 12:00am and stayed until shortly after 5am. We all had a great time but the night went by too fast.
I have quite a few worries right now and have been feeling like I need a retreat or some time to make some plans and follow them through. I will try to become positive again as I really had feeling "down in the dumps" as I currently do! Wish me luck!
